The original First National Bank building was not the handsome structure on the north side of the square today. The bank has been located on that site since its founding in 1888, but in a more modest building (which was previously the Keating Hardware store).1 After the bank acquired the Stump & Co. Shoes next door, the present building was erected in 1910. In 1998 the exterior was restored to its original façade. |
